Step 1: Open an Account or Verify Your Identity
If you already hold a checking, savings or loan account with C&F Bank, you are eligible for online banking. Visit any of our 30 Virginia branch locations with a government-issued photo ID, or call 804-843-2360 to initiate enrolment by phone. Your identity will be verified against the information on file.
Step 2: Receive Your Activation Email
Within 24 hours of enrolment, you will receive an email from C&F Bank containing a secure activation link. This link expires after 72 hours for security purposes. If it expires, call customer service to request a new one at no charge.
Step 3: Create Your Credentials
Click the activation link to reach the CFFC online banking setup page. Choose a unique username (8-20 characters) and create a strong password (minimum 10 characters, mixed case, at least one number and one special character). These credentials will work across the website and the C&F Bank mobile app.
Step 4: Configure Multi-Factor Authentication
Select your preferred second factor: SMS code to your registered mobile number, email verification code, or authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy or Microsoft Authenticator). We recommend an authenticator app for the strongest protection, but all three options exceed the FDIC baseline requirements for consumer authentication.
Step 5: Explore Your Dashboard
Once logged in, take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the layout. Set up your account alerts, enrol in eStatements, add payees to bill pay and register your device as trusted to streamline future logins. The online banking help section includes short video tutorials for each feature.
