Encryption and Transport Security
Every connection to the CFFC online banking platform is encrypted with TLS 1.3, the latest transport layer security protocol. Data at rest in C&F Bank databases uses AES-256 encryption — the same standard used by the U.S. government for classified material. Even if an attacker intercepted network traffic or gained physical access to storage media, the data would be unreadable without the encryption keys, which are managed through a hardware security module with strict access controls.
